Tips For Parents by Kiddie Care

Find Babysitter & Nanny jobs with Kiddie Care. An online child care directory connecting New Zealand nannies & babysitters with parents.

Interviewing a Babysitter/Nanny

Once you have established initial contact via our online service, it is now up to you to organise an interview/s with your prospective employee. It's ideal that your child/children are home at the time of interview and that the location is at your household, this will give the prospective employee an insight into the child/children's environment and where they will potentially be working.

Ensure you have a list of questions set out before the babysitter/nanny arrives, this list should include an array of questions about there experience, past jobs (if any), how they would respond in certain situations, how they discipline, any special training (first aid, etc), can they do other jobs such as cooking/cleaning, etc.

Make sure you give them the opportunity to ask yourself questions as well. You may like to employee them for a trial period, after choosing an employee make sure you give them all your contact and emergency contact details. We wish you the best of luck.

 Job Offers

Babysitters/Nannies may be searching through many job offers in their area, you want to make sure your job offer stand out above the rest.

When placing a job offer, we recommend you keep it simple, note down exactly what your requirements are and be as honest as possible to ensure you gain the right babysitter/nanny for you... Make sure you write a blurb about your family and background too.
